The 5 Life Moments That Make Women Call a Feng Shui Consultant (and why we wait too long)

People KNOW when they need Feng Shui.

But they might not have the words for it.  It's an insistent nudge that something needs to shift, things aren't clicking — but most people don't know the name or profession of the person that can help them with this particular agitation.  And that profession is Feng Shui.

I think one of my testimonials speaks so clearly to this. Janet felt like giving up on a property that was SO near and dear to her, and a family heirloom.  Our Feng Shui consultation totally turned this around for her.  In her words:

The Problem

We own a lake cabin with my husband’s family. The lake and the woods make my soul sing — I feel deeply connected to the land itself. But inside the house, I never truly felt like I belonged. It didn’t feel like my space. The frustration grew so strong that it began to feel like a problem I needed to walk away from. I was ready to stop going altogether, even though I loved the setting.

Why Jessie?

There was something about this Feng Shui consultation that felt different. It didn’t feel transactional or surface level it felt intentional and meaningful, like something I could truly connect with.

The Happy Result

I knew our consultation was working when I started imagining small, intentional changes, ones that felt more like me. Changes that honored the history of the space while finally making room for me within it. What once felt overwhelming began to feel possible… even exciting.

When I walk into the space now, it feels light and calm; a place that makes me smile the moment I enter. I feel like I belong there. I can feel the intention we set woven into the space.

Your suggestions, guidance, and support helped me shift from wanting to walk away to feeling inspired and present. You helped me see and experience this home in an entirely new way. I feel grounded, connected, and genuinely good in the space now. It truly has been life-changing.”

This is not uncommon at all.  This dissatisfaction, this nagging, this discomfort.  Here are 5 different scenarios that we find ourselves in, and why Feng Shui is my answer to all of them.

When You Need More “Me” Time

Feng Shui is so much more than furniture placement — it is a way to deeply care for, nurture, and support yourself. When you're craving space for yourself, your home can either fight you on that or support it.

And there is so much action you can take to allow your home to support you in this.  You can declutter to make room for what actually matters to you.  You can design a corner around your own creativity — journaling, drawing, painting, meditating, or just having a good sit.  And you can get specific about what's allowed into that space and what isn't.  You can put away projects or reminders that are tiring you, and leave room for the space of fresh thoughts and perspectives.

I have a very specific spot for this in my home.  There are very few items here, and a good, comfortable view out the window. I am in disbelief at how important this spot has become to me over the years.  I sit here more than all the other spots in the house combined.  And whether I need a good think, a good cry, or a good rest, it supports them all with it's clarity and calm.  And guess what?  I find the rest of the family is constantly joining me here now - it's a regular meeting place.  But, there is an awareness that I am the boss here, and if it's quiet time, that's what's cooking. It is the clarity and calm built into the space that makes it so magnetic to everyone.

When You Have a Decision Weighing On You

Staying locked on one decision — turning it over and over — tends to produce fatigue, not clarity.  Widening your focus, rather than narrowing it further, is often what actually moves things.

Forcing a decision works, sometimes. But the bigger conundrums we're handed are rarely solved by staring at them harder. When an issue sits at the forefront of my mind for too long, I turn my attention instead to the rest of my life and my space.  A little tending here, a little clearing there, something easy and calm.  It's remarkable how much that loosens things.  Regularly, when facing a larger question, instead of deciding right then, I spend time just taking better care of the spaces around me, and trusting the process.  Eventually, my perspective and humour grows and solutions and new perspectives are offered.  Then I am feeling more freedom, ease, and possibly even an unexpected path forward.  By letting things flow, and allowing the natural balance present in nature, we open to seeing our place in things differently, and being inspired by unexpected things.

When There’s Been A Major Change

A child goes off to school.  A job change.  A relationship change.  You changed your mind and made a meaningful decision.  Here is where images and practices in the past may make us feel stuck or isolated.  This is where Feng Shui shines. This is when we need to reinforce a beautiful and generous self image that resonates with our current intention.  We keen to get present, and to show ourselves how much we love taking good care of ourselves.  We need a happy kitchen to keep us inspired to keep nutrition available.  We need a place to journal and process these changes.  We need to let go, of a lot.  All this is available, and is so much closer than our brains make it out to be.  And it begins with feeling sparkling in our space.

This one I wish people would call me sooner about.

They go along in their lives on feeling off, confused even.  And they can't place it.  But what they really need is their space reflecting back to them who they are becoming, not old decisions and stories.  This is such a powerful time to create this support.

When You Want to Choose Your Focus and Direct Your Energy

There is a wave of information and opinions out there.  But you know what is more important?  Being able to hear yourself.  And see yourself as the captain. When we declutter out old intentions and goals and articles, and we put, with all our intention and clarity, our very specific design decisions in our bedrooms, bathrooms and dining rooms, it must happen.

Feng Shui helps you show up clearly in your home - and know that the power of natural forces is also supporting you.  Feng Shui helps you to direct energy toward what you do want, what you want to feel, see, touch, surround yourself with.  Literally making a home for your manifestations - the things that you love.  The power you feel when you can see this shift in your space, and that you can make your home here, is infinitely inspiring.

When Nothing Feels Like Enough

The list will never end. It is your ticket to eternity. Just as you're wrapping your head around everything there is to do, more gets dumped at your door. Drowning? That was last month.

Feng Shui is a salve for this.  I can show you how, without creating a shopping list, you can bring more calm, more focus, more energy to your home.  A place to process.  A place to receive rest and cook nourishing food.  A place to grow.  A place to create.  A place to welcome hope and how to welcome inspiration in - right through the front door.

Our environments really are the key to living how we want to live, supporting our choices and goals, seeing ourselves as we want to be seen, and letting the power of natural systems help balance us. Yes — there will be counters to clean and drawers to empty. But there's inspiration waiting on the other side of it, relief to feel, curiosity to spark. Sometimes, even a little fun.
